Assalamu Alaikum:
American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP) would like to wish everyone Ramadan Mubarak! May Allah shower us with His Blessings, Mercy and Security and may He increase our faith, heal our hearts, and revive our exhausted bodies and minds during this blessed month.
The past two years have been challenging, and through his Mercy, we hope this experience strengthens our resilience and willingness to continue learning from one another so that we may emerge as a community that is united in its commitment to serve and protect the most vulnerable.
We are all excited to resume attending prayer and iftar gatherings during the month of Ramadan. We must remember however, that it is with the tools now available to us, vaccines, masks, tests, and proper ventilation protocols, that we are able to safely resume these long-anticipated gatherings. These tools are important for everyone. They are especially important for those at higher risk. People at higher risk include people who are older, pregnant, too young to be vaccinated, or have higher risk medical conditions. Communities at higher risk include those with lower vaccination rates, more service workers, and fewer doctors, pharmacies, and hospitals.
The COVID-19 pandemic is also changing all the time, and local risk levels are changing constantly too. If you do plan to attend the mosque and social gatherings this month, consider the tips & recommendations for community members and mosques that will help us all keep our communities safe.
We wish you a blessed, healthy and safe Ramadan,
Ramadan Kareem!
